Event Description:

Join Palm Springs International Piano Competition as we open our 2023-24 Season with an evening of fiery Latin music for cello and piano, featuring Sara Sant’Ambrogio in her first desert appearance in nearly two decades. Joining her will be pianist Robert Koenig, in his debut performance as Artistic Director of PSIPC. In celebration of their hotly anticipated new CD recording of Latin music, “Ecstasy”, the duo will perform popular favorites by Piazzolla, De Falla, Granados and Ginastera.

This incredible performance will be followed by a post-concert reception that celebrates Latin culture, music and food.

Annual Benefit Honoring JoAnn Wellner ~ “Shining Stars in the Desert”

Event Description:

In an evening that features two of music’s fastest rising stars, Palm Springs International Piano Competition will present 19 year old New York jazz sensation, Anais Reno, along with renowned Music Director/Pianist, Pete Malinverni, in their Coachella Valley debut. This performance will also include several surprise guests and is not to be missed!

Joining the evening will be 17-year-old virtuosic pianist, Nathaniel Zhang, winner of the 2019 Junior Solo & Concerto Divisions of PSIPC’s Competition (formerly the Waring). This astounding young pianist will perform classical and popular favorites that are sure to have the audience on their feet.

The Performances will be followed by a gourmet meal at the beautiful Club at Morningside.

Proceeds benefit Palm Springs International Piano Competition’s education, outreach and 2025 Competition.

An Evening with PSIPC & Friends

Event Description:

Featuring performances by our stellar and talented Board of Directors, in addition to members of our desert musical community, this concert will showcase a diverse program of popular classical favorites, as well as the brilliant compositions of our President, Joe Giarrusso. Performers will include Artistic Director Laureate John Bayless, French hornist Bram Conley (pictured above), mezzo-soprano Elaine Wang Meyerhoffer, pianist Howard Schreiber, vocalist Debra Pollock, Giorgi & Anna Latso piano duo and Artistic Director and Pianist Robert Koenig.

A dessert and cocktail reception will follow.

Jonathan Mamora in Concert

In his Palm Desert Recital Debut, Riverside County native, pianist Jonathan Mamora, returns to the desert following his stunning First Prize awards in both the Senior Solo and Concerto Divisions of the 2022 Palm Springs International Piano Competition (formerly The Waring). Jonathan’s recent First Prize Award at The Scottish International Piano Competition in Glasgow, UK, adds to his growing list of accomplishments. New York Concert Review writes “Mr. Mamora’s playing is larger than life … he dazzles with lightning-fast fingers and an encyclopedic array of dynamics and articulations.” Mamora’s March 26th performance is certain to leave the audience spellbound to witness the meteoric rise of this talented, world-class pianist.
